Install and Update Skype On Fedora 15 Using Yum

Skype can be installed faster in Fedora using yum repositories, so when a new version releases, we don’t need to download the package. Instead you can update your existing installation.
How to install Skype Repositories :

Open a Terminal and type :
su
  vi /etc/yum.repos.d/skype.repo
This will open the vi editor with a blank window, where we have to type the following :
[skype]
name=Skype Repository
baseurl=http://download.skype.com/linux/repos/fedora/updates/i586
enable=1
gpgcheck=0
gpgkey=http://www.skype.com/products/skype/linux/rpm-public-key.asc
Now save the vi window and close it. To install Skype go to Add / Remove Software, search for skype and select the package to install and click on Apply.

Instead you can also do this by typing the following command on Terminal :
yum install skype

You have to type «:wq» in the vi window.

«q» stands for «quit», but you want to «write» before you quit, so «:wq» does the thing.
